The NFL has welcomed several multi-sport athletes into its ranks over the years. But none more so than baseball players.

Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray and John Elway are just a few of the NFL's elites who could've easily carved themselves a career in the MLB. That being said, the now-defunct Montreal Expos had gotten themselves quite a catch in 1995.

In the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft, the team drafted a left-handed catcher out of high school. The athlete, who was also a quarterback, though, declined the offer and ultimately enrolled at the University of Michigan. The player we're talking about is none other than Tom Brady.

Tom Brady impressed Major League Baseball scouts enough to where he was drafted by the Expos. While some believed he had the potential to make it as a professional baseball player, Brady was more passionate about football.

The quarterback went on to have a solid four-year stint with the Wolverines being picked by the New England Patriots with the 199th overall pick in 2000. The rest, as they say, is history.

Former Montreal Expos General Manager (GM) Kevin Malone definitely saw potential in Tom Brady.

During an interview with Bleacher Report, the former GM revealed how the 45-year-old who ultimately decided to live out a career in the NFL, could have made it big in the MLB:

"I think he could have been one of the greatest catchers ever. I know that's quite a statement, but the projections were based on the fact we had a left-hand-hitting catcher, with arm strength and who was athletic... But his first love was football."

The young catcher from Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California, always had that something special. While his greatness was there for all to see in the NFL, one can't help but wonder what Brady could've managed in the MLB.
